Lloyd Ft Juelz Santana - Pusha

Here's a new joint from Lloyd who seems like he's trying to make a comeback with Skullgang's own Juelz Santana. I actually like this joint it has kind of a smooth summer feel to it.

Drake ft Trey Songz- Successful

The video has finally dropped for the '09 song of the year!!! This has a new version with a new Trey Songz verse

Wiz Khalifa ft. Boogz Boogetz – Favorite Show

This is a new track from Wizzle man feat Boogz Boogetz (sidebar but what kind of name is Boogz Boogetz). Oh and the sample on this track is good, I'm pretty sure I heard this sample in a John Legend song.

Wiz Khalifa ft Boogz Boogetz- Favorite Show

Ghostface Killah - Baby f. Raheem DeVaughn

Here's Ghostface Killah and Raheem DeVaughn with a new video

Jay-Z Speaks On Record Labels

Here's an old video of Jay-Z talking about record labels. Whats funny is for a man whose been through so many of them Jay-Z sure does have an odd opinion of them

DMX & Jay-Z Freestyle!

Here's a flashback to the dopest times in hip-hop history!

Mary J Blige - The One f. Drake

Drake ft. Nipsey Hussle- KILLER

Now here's the most unexpected collaboration of the year!!! This almost as surprising as Eminem and Elton John!!!! We've got the pretty boy, ladies man, college kid on a track called "Killer" with one of the leaders of the gang-banging, dope dealing, members of the new west! But I can't be mad at it because they both did their thing on the track. Check it out and give some feedback.

Rick Ross ft. Trina – Skyline

Here's a new joint with officer Ross and the baddest bitch Trina.

Rick Ross ft Trina- Skyline

Birdshit ft. Drake and Lil Wayne – Money 2 Blow

Wow....forreal Birdshit? Drake came out with this song at the begining of the year and your just gonna steal it? whatever man thats normal Birdshit for you. But once you tone out Birdshit Weezy and Drizzy do their thing.

Jay-Z ft. Drake – Off That

Here's the collabo we've all been waiting for!! Drake (one of the leaders of the new school) and Jay-Z, the legend! No more time waisting download this track

Trey Songz ft. Fabolous – Say Aah

Here's a new banger from Trigga and Loso. Honestly this is a dope joint all around, its radio friendly but with Loso on the track you already know its lyrically on point. But check it out and give some feedback.

Charles Hamilton ft. Show Tufli – Body Roc

Wow after taking a 239348458945 yr hiatus Sonic is back with a new track with his homeboy Show Tufli. Check it out and give us some feedback.

Nipsey Hussle – Hussle Is My Last Name

Here's some new music from Neighborhood Nipsey! Honestly I never really gave him a chance in the beginning, I saw him as another cliche gangster rapper but he's got some depth in his music. When I first looked at his song titles I figured he'd be even more cliche but he surprised me in the best way possible. Its more than just stories about how he would deal drugs and gangbang, it has a little bit of remorse in it that reminds me of Jay-Z on his debut album "Reasonable Doubt." But his new mixtape "Bullets Aint Got No Name" will be up soon, for now enjoy this new track thats a banger!

Freeway – Love

Here's a new banger from Freeway called "Love." This is the kind of soulful songs I miss in Hip-Hop

Reakwon Talking About Why Nas Isnt On His New Album

"We heard the album last night, son. Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II is a certified gem. That very last song on the LP, “Kiss the Ring,” is amazing. He’s has those mafia war stories, the sharp wordplay, Wu-Bangers and even some Dr. Dre G-Funk. What the Chef was unable to get was Nas. One of the main show-stealers from the original Only Built 4 Cuban Linx never gave Rae a verse for the new LP. So much for nostalgia.

“He committed to it,” Rae told Mixtape Daily. “I knew dude be busy. However it goes down, it’s cool with me. My thing is, I sacrificed to even ask because of the fans. But if dudes be too busy in their own minds, they don’t have to do it. Because Rae continues to do Rae anyway. Y’all came to see me. It’s the Rae show anyway.”

The Chef does have a couple of non-Wu-Tang castmembers — Beanie Sigel and The Lox’s Jadakiss and Styles P — participating on the CD. “I had to go back and deal with brothers I felt was really next to me, like a Sigel,” Chef said. “The way he came across, y’all gonna know he’s nothing to play with. He’s a vicious MC. When me and him get on a track, everybody gotta sit down. I got Kiss on the album. He’s like another one of me. I’m like him. We seen the same things. We share the same stories. I’m just a little older than Kiss, but we’re compatible. I wanted to keep it real Cuban, where people be like, ‘That’s how they talk.’ Jeezy would have been a good dude for the album, but maybe I’ll get him for [Cuban Linx III]. I wanted to keep it light on the features. I didn’t want everybody to [feel] like I’m looking too hard and leaning on features. I put Wu all over the joints because that’s how we made the first one.” According to Rae’s camp, he definitely has enough quality material to put out an Only Built 4 Cuban Linx III at the top of the year"

Asher Roth feat. Keri Hilson – She Don’t Want A Man

Here's Asher Roth's new video from his debut album "Asleep In The Bread Aisle." Honestly this is one of my favorite songs on the album. The album wasnt bad but it seems like he was playing it safe so it ended up sounding more pop than anything. But this song is good and Keri puts her touch on it!

J. Cole- Back To The Topic Freestyle

Here's another mind blowing verse from one of the dopest new lyricists in the game. This time he goes in over Cassie's "Must Be Love" and completely murders it. Its verses like this that make me think hes gonna be around for a while!

XV-Everybody's Nobody

Here is a mixtape from in my opinion one of the most original and dopest new artists in the game, XV. Now I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon and make it sound like I've been bumping XV a long time because in reality I havent. The only reason he got any play from me in the first place is because I saw a YouTube video where he freestyled with J. Cole (Roc Nation's new artist and a crazy lyricist), and to my surprise this guy I never heard before snapped as hard as J. Cole. But the video is coming soon and for now sit back and enjoy XV's new project. Oh and by the way this tape has a bunch of crazy features like Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, and Colin Munroe
XV Quotable:
"Who's got 2 thumbs and knows how to spit rhymes? P2 thumbs up you gone point them at this guy"

Drake Speaks on The Making of "Successful"

Drake speaks on the process behind the making of his breakout song "Successful." He talks about the making of it and how everything fell together and even explains some of the lyrics in his verses. Personally this is one of my favorite Drake songs.

Fabolous- Salute ft Lil Wayne

Heres yet another track from Loso incase you aint no so featuring Lil Wayne on the hook with on verse. Honestly this track is probably gonna get major play on the radio, the beats on point and the lyrics are dope. I think you'll definately enjoy the drumline style beat!

Fabolous- Salute ft Lil Wayne

Andre 3000- Lookin 4 Ya

This is officially a good summer for hip-hop, Jay-Z's seriously talking about releasing the Blueprint 3, Kanye is rapping again, and ANDRE 3000 IS RAPPING AGAIN! Now I'm sorry to say but if this doesnt excite you atleast a little bit then your not real hip-hop! But no more talking just listen to the track and enjoy the 2min and 1 second of real hip-hop!

Andre 3000- Lookin 4 Ya

Vado- Go Hard ft Cassidy

Heres a new track by Vado, Cam'ron's new Juelz haha, ft Philly's Finest Cassidy. And the songs pretty dope and Cassidy definately goes in!

Vado- Go Hard ft Cassidy

Twista- Alright ft. Kanye West

CHI-Town is definately in the building with this track! I'm a CHI-Town boy originally and this track is definately a step in the right direction for the city as a whole! The beat is on point (its a Kanye West production) and the lyrics are on point, its definately good to here Kanye rap for a change!

Twista- Alright ft Kanye West

Drake - Heartbreak Drake 2

Here's the new Drake mixtape which is a sequel to the first Heartbreak Drake mixtape. For all you that dont know this isnt an official Drake mixtape but really some DJs collection of songs but the songs are on point and he even has some new exclusives on here that no ones heard before!

Drake- Heartbreak Drake pt. 2

The Game- So Wavy (Jay-Z Diss)

Here is the long awaited traditional diss to an artist who has little no interest in beefing with The Game. Honestly The Game is getting out of hand with this beef stuff and personally I used to only tolerate this mess because the diss tracks were on point, but after this sorry excuse for a diss track I'm dissappointed. The track is okay but it wasn't clear the entire track who he was even rapping about and whether he was rapping about anyone specifically at all. This track seemed like if an kid with ADD found a kid on the playground he didn't like and made a diss track about him but got distracted while writing about it and just talked about everyone he had problems with. By the way the ad libbing at the end defending Chris Brown was whack, you get no love for it Game. But in all fairness he did have afew good one liners like this

"No one on the corner has swagga like you, cause no one on the corner is f***ing 42!"

Jeremih- Ima Star (Remix) ft Juelz Santana

Im not sure if you remember the track I posted earlier by this new guy Jeremih called "Everywhere We Are" well apparantly they changed the name and now its called "Ima Star" and Dipsets own Juelz Santana decided to hop on the track.

Freeway- Freeway's Beard

Here is a new track by Freeway called and off of his upcoming mixtape "Freelapse." On the track he samples a Freestyle that Eminem did where he mentions his beard. This is actually a pretty funny/dope track so check it out.

Mario - Break Up f. Gucci Mane & Sean Garrett

Rick Ross - Gunplay

Heres another video from officer...I mean the Big Boss Rick Ross haha. Its actually a kinda dope track so check it out

Big Sean Interview

Big Sean speaks on topics such as G.O.O.D. Music, especially his supposed beef with KiD CuDi, his influences, and his upcoming album "Finally Famous"

Monday, July 13, 2009

T.I. - Remember Me ft. Mary J. Blige

This is T.I.'s new video "Remember Me" ft Mary J. Blidge off of his upcoming album "Paper Trail: Case Close" thats supposed to drop soon. But this video shows why T.I. is one of the best in the industry right now. If you ask me, T.I. has always been good at making music that people can connect with emmotionally and this song is proof of that. Its dope enough where it can be on the radio and get major play on 106 & Park but it still has some substance and the lyrics are on point!

Drake Interview by DJ Whoo Kid

Drizzy Drake speaks on topics such as his relationship with Jay-Z, his injury and recent collaborations with other artist.

The Game Disses Jay-Z.....Again

I'm slowly loosing respect for Game more and more. I was a fan, I even supported him when he dissed 50 after their supposed beef was settled. Now he just seems desperate to gain attention and fight his way back into the public eye by dissing everyone bigger than him! It's almost sad, now im wondering if he's gonna diss Ne-Yo next!

The Game Apologizes To 50 Cent and the Rest of G-Unit!

Drake on Mixtape Mondays

Drake talks on things such as a follow up to So Far Gone and working with Pharrell on his debut album after he gets off tour

"“I just gotta get this tour knocked out,” he said earlier this week, smiling about going on the road as part of the America’s Most Wanted Music Festival, which will feature Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy Tell’em and Young Jeezy.

“I am working on [the album] right now. I’ve actually started. I was in the studio with Pharrell, and it’s basically a pretty lax process for us.

“Basically, So Far Gone worked,” he continued, talking about his strategy for the highly anticipated LP. “So, let’s just try to do it again. You know, let’s try and act as if we were making a second disc to So Far Gone. Picking up on things I feel So Far Gone missed out on. Taking away things that people liked but didn’t respond to as much as they did to Best I Ever Had, Uptown, or the joint with Lloyd [Successful]. There were specific things on that mixtape that I know unanimously people loved and certain things that people didn’t necessarily understand. So basically, I’m just trying to find the strongest points off So Far Gone and basing the album off that.”"

Actually whats funny is a little while ago I was listening to old Loon wondering what happened to him and now I know and I wish I didnt! haha

Bobby Ray on Mixtape Daily

He speaks on topics such as his name change and how it eventually turned into his new mixtape B.o.B. vs. Bobby Ray. Is it me or does every artist need to have some kind of internal beef going on between themselves? Oh well it made for good music and a solid mixtape that'll be up soon.

Bobby Ray- Put Me On (Music Video)

Here is Bobby Ray's (the artist formerly known as B.o.B.) spin on the classic Tribe Called Quest song "Bonita Applebaum." Bobby Ray teamed up with Reebok to help celebrate the Reebok Classic Remix collection. Personally I think that Bobby Ray is one of the most talented artists from the Freshman Class and honestly in the music business as a whole. I think if he sticks to his own idea of good music and the same innovative trippy concepts he can keep this music thing going for a minute!

Drake Speaks on Young Money Deal

..it’s almost impossible to go fully independent. This was basically like the closest thing I could get to my own independence, to sort of continuing to be that guy to the fans that, you know, is trying to prove something — trying to prove that it can be done. So with that being said, I signed directly to Cortez Bryant and Gee Roberson, my two managers, and their company Inspire. It’s a joint venture with Young Money, so that’s the deal. I know there’s been a lot of stuff on the Internet about different entities, but that’s the people involved in the main record deal. And then it’s distributed through Universal, so it’s great, man. You know, if we can sell some records I think it could be a pretty legendary situation.

I plan to work with Wayne for the rest of my career, so I think it’s a smart career move,” he added. “You know, everybody else [on Young Money] will hopefully work out the situations, get the right people on the album. I think it was important for me to show him that I believed in him as much as he believed in me. Because a lot of months he stuck his neck out there for me, you know with performing with Drake on the BET Awards Sunday, and then 'Ransom' and all the songs that we put out. And the things he would say in interviews, he really put himself out there for me. So I think it was only just and fair to show him that I feel the same way.

Trey Songz - Genesis: The Birth of Songz (Demo/Mixtape)

This is Trey Songz's mixtape/demo CD. This is old Trey Songz when he was grinding out trying to get a deal. This gives you a look at how Trey got started which will give you a better idea of what he might end up like later in his career. Like my grandma always told me "you cant know your future unless you know your past."

Trey Songz's Summary of Genesis

Genesis - the beginning of it all. I was a kid with big dreams. At the age of 15, I met Troy Taylor, My Producer, Mentor and founder of Songbook Ent. He lived in Jersey while I was a high school student living in Virginia. We kept contact throughout the school year & I’d come to Jersey for whatever school breaks we had AND the summers to hone what had now become my craft. While I loved music, like anybody does, making music was new to me. You will hear the Immaturity and youth in my voice, you’ll hear me learning how to record. This is Trey Songz PRE - Gotta Make It. Most of the songs you will hear were recorded in a basement in Teaneck, New Jersey. I slept on a fouton, I woke up to loud music and was made to think of melodies and concepts before I washed my face or brushed my teeth. I could make 10 bucks stretch for 2 weeks because I’d rather not burden my mother. I drove a 88 Honda Accord that had 2 different color doors with no radio back and forth from VA (or Baltimore) to Jersey. This is only one chapter of my story, you’ll learn more as we grow together. I want my fans to know my musical path, know the work I put in and see my growth. Know that ANYTHING is possible. If u believe in YOU like no one else could ever have a work ethic to match and u cannot be stopped. With that being said…I give you GENESIS.

Charles Hamilton's Fees

Recently I heard a rapper say in an interview that he dissed Mickey Factz because he was snobby and was charging to much for a track. So since he is classmates with Charles Hamilton I figured I'd give you an idea of how the freshman class of 09 is charging.

This is straight from Charles Hamilton's Blog

"So The Charles Hamilton Sound has been debated, hailed as brilliant, and discarded as inaudible. Depends on how deep you listen to music. Well... if you want that beautiful enigma to reflect in your music, its gonna cost ya! lol... here you go...

MIXING/ENGINEERING:
$200 a song
$1000 for 5 songs
$300 for mastering one song
$500 for mastering an EP (5-7 songs)
$1000 for mastering an album (8+ songs)

PRODUCTION:
$1500 per beat
$3000 to provide beats for entire project
$5000 to produce entire project (give direction, etc.)
$7500 to executive produce a project (give direction, provide beats for entire project, track-out and master final product)

STIPULATIONS:

I do not condone music that (a) degrades women, (b) promotes violence/drug sales (c) promotes ignorant/negative existentialism (eg. Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, etc.). I do not want my sound or resources to be tied to music that does not progress this generation. I don't care how much you're willing to offer. Also, no weapons allowed in the studio. I shouldn't have to say that, but through conversations with engineers throughout the years, I see that aggresive dialogue is the only way some people can get their point across. Not with that "movement", so "Take your shoes off at the door."

You can either bring me your ProTools sessions, or I'll come to a mutual studio. I don't even wanna fathom being stood up for a session...

I am an avid user of ProTools, and so is Woody (though he is incredible at Logic). For Woody's rates, visit woodysproduce.com."
